Parking Lot Ministry

The first group of greeters you will meet when you come to our worship.  The experience of visiting a church begins in the parking lot.  Parking lot greeters also help manage the flow of our parking lot and direct parishioners to appropriate parking spaces.  They are also responsible for designating first-time visitor parking spaces and ensuring that there is clear signage.

Greeter & Hosting Ministry

Persons in this group are responsible for greeting worshippers as they prepare to enter the Sanctuary, distributing literature and encouraging guests to feel at home at Pennsylvania Avenue.  

Usher Ministry

Ushers are to be doorkeepers in the house of the Lord, and keepers of order and decorum.  Their main duties are to help distribute bulletins and other literature, stand at the Sanctuary doors to invite persons in at the appropriate times, assist in locating seating and receiving the offerings.  They are to service the needs of the congregation at worship services, receptions, funerals and other church events.  

This group will skillfully monitor and regulate the sound system during the worship services.  They also record the worship services on Sunday and other designated times and handle the duplication and distribution of recorded services.

The presence and preparation of music for a worship service is Biblical, as is the development of a spirit-filled ministry and minister of music.  It is a serious and glorious privilege to be involved in the Music Ministry because, just like prayer, music invokes its own unique manifestation of the Holy Spirit.

The only lay group of women nominated by the pastor and consecrated to work for Jesus only.  They are to prepare the altar and the elements of Holy Communion and Baptism; to minister to the poor; visit the sick; and pray for the dying, care for the orphan, seek the wandering, comfort and sorrowing, save the sinning, and ever be ready to take up any duty for which willing hands cannot otherwise be found.  They also assist in taking communion to the sick and shut-in.

Serve to lead the processional, to light the candles and to serve during the worship services to assist the pastor.  

This ministry promotes creative expression through the art of liturgical and expressive dance.  Also, this ministry utilizes dance as a praise and worship tool to honor the holiness and supremacy of God.

Because of our desire to move to new dimensions in living, we will need constant prayer.  Intercessory prayer teams will be organized for maximum prayer coverage of this church and her members.  This ministry also coordinates prayer events to cover the church in prayer throughout the year.
